As the number of national coronavirus (COVID-19) cases continues to rise both domestically and internationally, the safety of our employees, stakeholders and client community is our primary concern. We write to share with you the proactive steps we are taking to mitigate and manage these risks and alleviate supplier and client concern.
Note: This guidance is subject to change as the situation is rapidly evolving with the advice of the WHO, Public Health England and general Government advice.
We have and are continually reviewing our Business Continuity Plan and conducting virtual internal meetings to effectively mitigate current risks. As the nature of COVID-19 evolves daily, these meetings will be conducted as and when required to undertake a business impact analysis on both internal and external challenges to our business under the core principles of:
- People management;
- Location analysis;
- Technology and data access;
- Suppliers and Partner requirements; and
The following is a brief summary of key actions we are taking to mitigate and manage the current challenges presented by COVID-19, this list is not exhaustive:
- We are providing our employees with regular updates on guidance and utilising the information supplied by WHO to ensure workplace safety for us and our clients.
- Coordinated HR support and guidance in the implementation of interim special leave policies and monitoring of absenteeism.
- Seeking confirmations from our supply chain on implementation of measures aligned to WHO, Governmental and Public Heath England advice as well as identification of essential business functions.
- Increasing frequency of our detailed active management system that is reviewed weekly to ensure that project priorities are implemented and that actions are communicated to the project teams. This process continues irrespective of whether staff are office/home-based.
- Implementing IT and technology system updates to ensure effective homeworking, with all senior staff being equipped with the appropriate communication devices / IT equipment.
- Ensuring project teams carry sufficient knowledge and capacity that should an issue arise, project continuity should have minimal impact, if any.
At this stage we do not have residual concerns as we have now implemented a working from home policy, as the Consultancy Service we provide does not always require a physical presence in the office.
Tyréns UK current and planned international travel
Tyréns UK is monitoring all travel and has taken the following actions:
- The cancelation or postponement of meetings to all areas with potential and actual impacts of COVID-19 with mitigation measures of remote conferencing where practicable.
- We have advised all employees to avoid all non-essential travel and continue to work remotely as we feel this is the best decision to protect our employees and clients and aligns to Government advice.
- We are in close, regular communication with those employees who are currently unwell with COVID-19 symptoms or are self-isolating with affected household members.
- We are monitoring and will continue to monitor travel guidance related to COVID-19 and have advised all employees on avoiding all travel but essential travel. We are putting in place temporary measures for holiday approvals and plans for our employees in both a professional and personal capacity where they have needs for essential travel to be made in the coming months.
The decisions we are making rely heavily on the guidance we are receiving from the WHO, Government and Public Health England. We recognise the uncertainty this global health issue is creating and are committed to keeping you informed and up to date as this situation evolves.
